Last Man Standing  [1999]

It ain't easy being a layabout
So much time to think – so much to forget about
No it ain't easy being a waste of space
But I’m doing my best to keep the place clean

I had to wish it all away
In the hope that things might happen someday
A chance to make it pay
But I’m the last man standing still
I’m the last man standing still these days

It ain't easy being ten feet tall
My bite is much worse than my bark
When your back’s against the wall
It ain't easy being free of ties
When the rocks are close and you’re drifting on the tide
Drifting all the time

So I’ll be standing in the queue
With a host of things to do someday, we’ll do some
I’m last against the wall, in the search for the big reward
And I hope it comes to me someday – to me some day

No it ain't easy being ‘fit to drop’
Training with the champions – recalling what I forgot
No it ain't easy being free as a bird
But I can live with the hours and it pays well so I’ve heard

So I’m standing in the queue with a host of things to do
And I’m looking for the one that got away
Last against the wall, in search of the big reward
And I hope it comes to me someday – to me some day

So I’m standing in the queue
With a host of things to do someday
And I’ll be last against the wall, in search of the big reward
And I hope it comes to me someday – to me some day

No it ain't easy being a layabout
So much time to dream – so much to forget about
No it ain't easy being a waste of space
But I’m doing my best to keep the place clean
Keep the place clean
Will you clear it up?
