Chances R

Chances R >> Temperance
(Jason Allen - 1992)

You know the score, you know the score
I can't make it alone anymore
And if I made myself more clear
You'd see right through me

I've been laying traps, I've been laying traps
I've been trying to make you see
And if I made myself more visible
You'd see to much of me
You'd see to much of me, all of me

I'm twisted up, I'm spinning out
Breaking up, burning out
But this temperance won't get the best of me...
All of me

I've seen the door, I've seen the door
I can't open the wood anymore
And if I made myself more powerful
I'd break the heart inside
I'd break the hearts inside
Love...

Jason says...
"If pushed I'd say that this was my favourite Chances R tune. Roy had this oriental keyboard progression that he'd come up with at home and we married it to an idea that emerged from a writing session at Mr Grin before Roy had joined. The words are about the fool not rushing in. I'm still completely baffled as to why we never recorded this for the Bristol UK album."

Chances R - Temperance (Live)
Live at Bristol Mauretania, December 1993.
