"My fourth solo disc actually started out as an ambitious 20-track double album with Dan Russell called 'Stantonbury Tales', which was eventually shelved.

A handful of copies were circulated in Februray 2006, after which we decided to split the project in half, resulting in Dan's 'Life Will Set You Free' opus and my remixed, stripped down 'On Wisdom Hill' album.

As with 'The Land Of The Living', many of these songs were originally written as 'live' one-take improvisations at Dan Russell's place, captured on tape or minidisc and re-learnt later.

Even though I removed a lot of our original, multi-layered performances during the eventual remix, Dan's additional backing vocals can still be heard on tracks 2, 8 and 12".
