
Dan Russell and John Baxter first met in 2006 when John joined Dan's 'Pacific Groove' band. They later teamed up as 'The Creek' in 2007, and, along with an expanded line-up of local musicians, crafted the album "It Doesn't Matter", featuring the songwriting talents of both artists.
Jason Allen originally met Dan Russell in 1999, via a "four track for sale" advert in Trade It. Realising they shared common musical ground, the pair went on to collaborate on Dan's 2002 album "Road To California", and the 2006 follow-up "Life Will Set You Free". Jason was also an on/off floating studio member of Dan's ever-evolving 'Pacific Groove' combo.

The trio is named after the migratory bird, the English name of which dates back to around the eleventh century, most likely derived from the Anglo-Saxon word 'Feldefare', meaning "Traveller through the fields". The male of the species has a simple chattering song...
